White horse rider, Mahdi they cry,

Until the true King comes and the war is done.

Esau is Edom, the ancient cry,

From Obadiah’s vision still ringing true.

Who is this that cometh from Edom’s hills

With garments dyed in the crimson hue?

But the justified stand by the blood alone,

Name written down in the Book of Life.

While the beast rebuilds what the Lord once tore,

The faithful watch for the end of the strife.

So look to the Word, pure Cambridge still,

Justification free by grace so bright.
